Out with the Old,
In with the New!

With the start of each New Year it has always been a great time to look back and reflect on the past year. To take a good hard look at what we would like to change about our lives’ for the better. New beginnings if you will. Out with the Old, in with the New!

As I have journeyed down this path of discovering more about living a green lifestyle. I have come to realize that this is exactly that!  Again, a positive change in my way of thinking about my life and how it impacts not only me, but the others’ around me. How my actions, my choices affect my community, my planet and Our World.

The people you can connect with here just behind the banners and links, my network of Green Resources as I like to call them. Have really opened my eyes, my heart, and my mind to how we can really make a difference and change our world for the better!

Things like: recycling, saving energy, abundant clean natural sources of energy, and green environmentally friendly products and services for our everyday use. There is always a safer and more natural solution! Eco-friendly products and services that is not only healthier for us but Mother Earth as well.

Punxsutawney Phil our most famous and favorite groundhog did see his shadow this year. The appearance of Phil's shadow means winter will extend well into March according to folklore. Had Phil not seen his shadow, it would have meant spring is just around the corner. I wonder if climate change confuses Phil these days too? As our weather changes so much from day to day. But either way spring grows nearer each passing moment. A great time to begin anew . For fresh starts. A great time for us to think about, Out with the Old and in with the New!

A Green Lifestyle

All we have to do is take a look at current events to see the rising cost of Health care and Health Insurance in our country today. We simply can’t afford to get sick. Not even counting the loss of income from not being able to work due to an illness. A green lifestyle is a preventive measure to preserve our well being. To take control of our own situation. Not to just count on another, our health care provider or health insurance company to do it for us. To take matters into our own hands so to speak.

Preventive versus Corrective Medicine

Most modern health care provider’s place most of the emphasis on corrective medicine. Taking care of you after you have already  gotten sick. Again a green lifestyle is a preventive measure to attempt to avoid illness in the first place. I would never tell anyone to ignore the advice of your doctor. They are highly educated intelligent people. People who chose to be healers because they are very caring and compassionate folks. But again most of what they are taught is corrective medicine through the use of pharmaceutical drugs. And we all know these drugs come with many side affects. A green lifestyle is to avoid becoming dependent on drugs in the first place. Not to say that drugs have no benefit at all. But really should be a last resort. Not only for the many side affects (especially with long term use) but again think of the cost involved.

Living Green

More and more recent research has discovered that many diseases are being caused by environmental toxins. Chemical pesticides and fertilizers used in our food; chemicals in all of our household products, chemicals in our building products. Constant exposure to so much chemical use adds up over time! And where do all these toxic chemicals go when we flush them down the toilet or pour them into our sinks, washers and yards? They are now showing up in our drinking water, our soil and the air we breathe each day. Is it not just good green common sense to choose a bio-degradable, non-toxic product or solution whenever possible?

Our Future Generations

If for no other reason; let’s do this for our children, our future generations. I recently read an article that stated chemical pesticides had been detected in an unborn child in a Mother’s womb. That these toxic chemicals are causing ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in our children! Our little ones are the most vulnerable because their immune systems are not yet fully developed. They are helpless victims of our “Toxic America”.

A Green Lifestyle

The more I research the subject material that inspired my blogspot here. Living green, a green lifestyle is truly a do good and feel good kind of a thing. That we as consumers can really make a difference! For our incredibly beautiful planet and our World,

Let’s Go Green!
